There are very few places on Earth where the sun never sets — and Ylläs, in the heart of Finnish Lapland, is one of them. On this guided midnight sun hike, you will climb to a fell summit under golden Arctic light that lingers on the horizon long past midnight, casting the landscape in colours you simply cannot find anywhere else.
Led by a local North Wind Lapland guide, this is a small-group experience designed for travellers who want to connect with Lapland’s wild nature away from the crowds. The route takes you through boreal forest and open fell terrain to a panoramic summit viewpoint, where the treeless landscape stretches as far as the eye can see across the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park.
Halfway through the hike, your guide lights a campfire in a traditional wilderness setting. Warm up with hot drinks and grilled treats while listening to stories of Lapland — the land, the light and the people who have called these fells home for centuries.
No previous hiking experience required. Suitable for most fitness levels.
This is not a race — it is an experience.
