NORTHWIND LAPLAND is a SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE Destination Management Company located in Ylläs, 30 minutes away from Kittilä International Airport, created and operated by three locals born and raised in Ylläsjärvi and a French man who has lived in Lapland since 2004.
Beyond creating unforgettable journeys for travellers, our business directly contributes to the well-being of the Ylläsjärvi community by creating local jobs, reinvesting profits and resources into village development, supporting kindergarten and school and preserving Lapland’s natural and village Ylläsjärvi’s cultural environment. We personally conduct SNOWMOBILE SAFARIS, SNOWSHOEING, FOREST SKIING, NORTHERN LIGHTS TOURS, ICE FISHING, and other LOCAL CULTURE EXPERIENCES (tasting natural products, cooking, food smoking, etc.).
We have selected the best local companies for your REINDEER FARM VISITS and HUSKY SAFARI, locals for whom animal welfare is primordial.
We can take care of your accommodation and transfers from Kittilä airport.

Where we are
Ylläs is located 35 km away from Kittilä International airport and 35 km away from Kolari railway station. Airport bus transportation is available as well as private transfers and car rental.

🚗 By car: Follow the main road through Ylläsjärvi village and turn onto Tirroniementie. Our office is about 200 m from the main road, right behind Tunturi Flow.
🚌 By ski bus: Get off at the Ylläsjärvi village stop Eelin Kauppa; the office is a short walk away behind the grocery store.
Direct Flights
There are direct flights to Kittilä from France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy and Switzerland throughout the winter, daily connection to Helsinki all year-around and direct flights from Germany and Switzerland during the summer months.
Our office is located in the heart of Ylläsjärvi village, close to the lake. We are at the southern gate of the magnificent Pallas-Ylläs Tunturi National Park.
